Paul Woolford at Gatecrasher Nottingham "Retox"

Paul Woolford has DJ'd for nights including Cocoon, We Love at Space Ibiza, Intamacy and Planet E and he is the big name coming to Nottingham this Friday night at one of Nottingham's finest clubbing  venues. They are gonna take over the trance room and give the clubbers a night to remember with some incredible house from Gemini Sanj to pounding minimal techno from Paul Woolford.

If you are looking for an uplifting techno experience then this is definately a night you want to get involved in. Tickets are £6 early doors and NUS and the opening times are 10pm-4am.

Located in SE1 it has had some of the most famous DJ's in the world host events here and this Saturday we are in for a treat with the likes of dubfire making an appearance.  £15 entry and it is sure to be another great night for MOS. Saturday 01/10/2011 at Mint club Leeds sees system presents return to start the winter season.

For anyone that knows Leeds, you will know it has a great underground and techno scene. Mint Club has seen the biggest names in techno DJ there and has the same light system in there as "watergate" in Berlin.

A few names to have played here include Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, Frank Lorber, and Raresh is a resident at the famous cocoon night now called "system presents". It regularly opens its doors till 0700 so you have a good 8-9 hours of raving which cant be ignored in times like these where the all day and night parties are now extinct. This fine venue provides a great atmosphere, great sound system and has a very close feel for the DJ as the booth is within touching distance as everyone dances the night away.

Sven Vath, the king of techno...

Well seems fitting that my first blog is about "the king of techno" Mr Sven Vath. Sven Vath is a German DJ and music producer who has a share in cocoon club in Frankfurt and found cocoon recordings for up and coming artists to use as a platform to release their music without the need to depend on the major record labels.
He also hosts the amazing event "cocoon heroes" in amnesia Ibiza every Monday through out the summer season in Ibiza. There are many stories of Sven and his co DJ's taking the party to the beach and the after parties on the island when the clubs close and carrying on with their own party. With the authorities in Ibiza keen on stopping the official after parties it means they may be less frequent and hard to find but if you look in the right place at the right time you can join the "cocoon heroes" for the carry on party in the sun. Sven plays a nice range of tech house to all out pumping techno and I don't think there is a better DJ in the world when it comes to getting his crowd going. He feels the music, feels the crowd, and knows exactly how to make all of his "heroes" lose themselves in the event. He has DJ'd the world over, and has a done the biggest clubs to some of the more underground venues in the UK and I have never read a bad review like most DJ's get every now and then.
What does the future hold for sven? Who knows, but it looks like he has no intention of stopping any time soon and that can only be good for people like us that love techno.
